Subclass 482
The new ‘Skills in Demand visa’ aims to address labour market needs and introduces several significant changes, such as one year of relevant experience from 2 years and more time to find another sponsor if their employment ceases with their sponsoring employer.
The Skills in Demand (SID) program is a 3-tiered structure as follows:

The Subclass 186 Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa offers two streams:
1: Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) Stream:
This stream is for applicants who have worked in the same nominated occupation under a Subclass 482 visa for at least two years out of the last 3 years. The two years on a 482 visa can be split between more than one 482 sponsor. The current sponsoring employer is required to nominate the applicant for a 186 TRT.
2: Direct Entry (DE) Stream:
This stream requires applicants to have a skills assessment in an occupation listed on the Core Skills Occupations List (CSOL) and at least three years of post-qualification experience in their field. This experience can be gained anywhere in the world.
Both streams provide a pathway to permanent residency, tailored to the applicant’s circumstances and qualifications.

Subclass 407
The 407 Training Visa allows Australian businesses to sponsor overseas individuals to undertake structured workplace-based training or professional development in Australia. It is ideal for enhancing skills, meeting occupational registration requirements, or supporting overseas capacity building.
This visa can be granted for up to 2 years and requires a three-step process: sponsorship, nomination, and visa application. A tailored training plan must be provided at the nomination stage.
Holders of this visa must work only for their sponsoring employer during their stay in Australia.

Subclass 400
The 400 visa is a short-term work visa for highly specialised, non-ongoing work in Australia. It is designed for overseas professionals whose skills are not readily available in the Australian labour market and are needed to support a specific project or contract.
This visa is generally granted for up to 3 months, with a maximum of 6 months in exceptional cases. Applications must be made from outside Australia, and holders can only work for the inviting Australian business.
