What you pay - our fixed professional fees

Our fee is the professional fee for AustraliaMigrate to manage your application from start to finish: eligibility advice, document preparation, lodgement and dealing with the Department of Home Affairs on your behalf. It is separate from the government’s own application charge.

GST is 10%. For example, a $4,500 + GST fee is $4,950 including GST. Fees shown are for standard cases; we will give you a fixed written quote for your situation after a consultation. Where a case is unusually complex, we will explain any variation before you commit.

Our professional fee vs
the government's application charge

This is the part most people get caught out by, so it is worth being clear. There are two separate costs in any visa application.

01
Our professional fee

What you pay AustraliaMigrate to prepare and manage your application. These are the fees in the table above.

02
Department of Home Affairs charge (VAC)

The government's own fee, paid directly to the Department when the application is lodged. It is set by the Australian Government, varies by visa and the number of people included, and is usually indexed each year.

Because the government’s charges change, we do not list them here — you can check the current figure using the official Department of Home Affairs visa pricing estimator. When you speak with us, we will walk you through both costs so you have the full picture before you start. There may also be third-party costs in some cases — for example skills assessments, police checks, health examinations or English tests. We will flag any that apply to you.

How and when you pay

Most agents ask for their full fee upfront. We split ours in two so the balance is only due on a successful outcome — your fee, inclusions and payment stages are all set out in a written agreement before any work starts.

Common mistakes people make with visa costs

Frequently asked questions

How much does a migration agent cost in Australia?

AustraliaMigrate’s professional fees start at $4,500 + GST for most partner and skilled visas, and $4,500–$5,000 + GST for employer-sponsored 482 and 186 visas. These are our fees for managing your application and are separate from the Australian Government’s visa application charge. Your final fee depends on your individual circumstances, and we provide a fixed written quote after a consultation.

How much does a partner visa cost with AustraliaMigrate?

Our professional fee for a partner visa is $4,500 + GST. This covers the full application, including the sponsor and applicant stages, for both onshore (820/801) and offshore (309/100) partner visas. The Department of Home Affairs application charge is separate and paid directly to the government.

How much does a 482 (Skills in Demand) visa cost?

Our professional fee for a Skills in Demand subclass 482 visa is $4,500–$5,000 + GST, depending on the complexity of the case, and covers both the nomination and the visa application. The Employer Nominated Scheme subclass 186 is the same. Government charges and any skills assessment costs are additional.

Do I pay the migration agent fee all at once?

No. We split our professional fee into two stages: 50% when we commence work and 50% when your visa is granted. Your fee and payment stages are agreed in writing before any work begins.

Is the government visa application charge included in your fee?

No. Our professional fee and the Department of Home Affairs visa application charge are two separate costs. The government charge is set by the Australian Government, varies by visa and the number of applicants, and is usually indexed each year. You can check the current amount on the Department of Home Affairs website, and we will explain both costs before you start.

Why should I use a registered migration agent instead of applying myself?

A registered migration agent gives you accurate advice, prepares your application correctly and deals with the Department on your behalf, which reduces the risk of a costly refusal. In Australia, anyone charging a fee for immigration assistance must be a registered migration agent or an Australian legal practitioner. AustraliaMigrate is led by Ian Singer (MARN 0001947), with over 25 years’ experience.

Are there other costs besides your fee and the government charge?

Sometimes. Depending on your visa, you may need to pay for a skills assessment, police checks, health examinations or an English test. These are paid to third parties, not to us, and we will tell you which ones apply to your case so there are no surprises.

Will my fee change once I start?

Your professional fee is fixed in a written agreement before work begins, so it will not change for a standard case. If your situation is unusually complex, we will explain any variation and agree it with you before doing the work.
